The Partnership

ÊÊÊÊ Parents and educators, alumni and business leaders, school administrators and corporations are working together with a common goal in mind- the advancement of education through the Greenwood Education Foundation. The Greenwood School District now serves over 3,000 students and is the largest employer in South Sebastian County with a budget in 1999-2000 of more than $14 million.

The Building Blocks

ÊÊÊÊ Public tax resources may not be sufficient in the future to sustain the quality education program Greenwood residents have come to expect. The Foundation's purpose is to gather funds that can be used to expand existing programs and create new ones; to establish or secure mini-grants for teachers to improve the overall quality of instruction in the school district; and to initiate a capital improvements program for a new auditorium and other programs.

The Gift

ÊÊÊÊ The Greenwood Education Foundation receives donations -both small and large- from caring individuals and corporations to establish an endowment fund and enhance the capital improvements program for the district. The Greenwood Education Foundation is a 501 (C) 3 tax exempt organization.

The Architects

ÊÊÊÊ Board members of the Greenwood Education Foundation come from all walks of life and share a commitment to the tradition of excellence that always has been the priority in the Greenwood schools. Present Foundation board members are; Dr. Kay Johnson, James Cox, Dr. James Henry , Carolyn Tarver, Marta Loyd, Dr. James Burgess, H.B. Stewart, Jerry McConnell, Wayland Parker, Gail Martin, Mark Linam, Stan Carter, Robert Turner, Stanhope Wilkinson, Jeff Geren, Wanda Ulmer,ÊJohn Fairbanks, and Eddy Beshears. JoElla Skaggs is the executive director.
